On behalf of the RNAcentral Consortium I am
delighted to announce the first public beta release of RNAcentral1. RNAcentral’s goal is to be a comprehensive
sequence database for non-coding RNAs. The consortium includes 21 RNA data resources that
are designated as RNAcentral Expert databases which feed information into the hub database. In this first release we have incorporated
data from 8 of them. We have created a
set of 7,704,884 unique RNA sequences for text and sequence searching. We also include genome browsing for human entries from VEGA database (example), and we plan to expand genome browser integration in future releases.
We welcome your feedback on any aspect of RNAcentral.
